Ramen in Malaysia: A Deep Dive into Ramen Honolu Premier

Ramen Honolu Premier: An Authentic Taste of Japan in KL My quest to discover the best ramen in Malaysia is a delicious journey, much like my recent visit to Maruki Ramen at The LINC KL . This blog is all about ramen , from the most humble stalls to premier spots, and this time, my search has led me to one of Kuala Lumpur's newest and most vibrant hotspots: The Exchange TRX. Nestled within this bustling hub is a name generating significant buzz – Ramen Honolu Premier . Hailing from Japan, it's a haven for those seeking an authentic, soul-soothing, pork-free ramen experience. First Impressions: A Modern Oasis in TRX Finding Ramen Honolu Premier is an experience in itself. Located on the Ground Floor, the restaurant’s clean, modern Japanese aesthetic provides a calming contrast to the energy of the mall. The interior is a blend of light wood, minimalist decor, and warm lighting, creating a space that feels both contemporary and inviting. From the moment you step in, the cheerful ...

Ramen in Malaysia: My Take on What’s Worth the Hype

Ramen in Malaysia: My Take on What’s Worth the Hype  If you’ve been following my food adventures, you’ll know that ramen has become one of my comfort go-to meals in Malaysia. I’m Emily, and I moved here a couple of years ago. Since then, I’ve been on an unintentional mission to taste as many bowls of ramen as possible—whether it’s in bustling malls, tucked-away shoplots, or little gems you stumble upon by accident. Ramen in Malaysia: A Growing Scene What’s fascinating about Malaysia is how diverse the ramen scene has become. From Kuala Lumpur to Penang, you’ll find ramen bars popping up everywhere. Some go all out on authenticity, replicating Japanese flavours down to the last detail, while others embrace fusion, creating something that feels local but still recognisably ramen. If you’re curious about where ramen actually came from, the Wikipedia entry on ramen   gives a great overview of its origins and evolution. Seeing how far it’s travelled to Malaysia makes each bowl ...

Kuro Ramen - Worth to Try if You're in Kajang

Kuro Ramen - Worth to Try if You're in Kajang I was in Prima Saujana one late afternoon, following a co-worker who lives in Kajang. She had asked me to help check some work documents in her home office there. After finishing up around 5 pm, hunger kicked in, and we decided to wander around for ramen. That walk led us to Kuro Ramen  tucked at H-30-GB, Jalan Prima Saujana 2/D, Taman Prima Saujana, Kajang. First Impressions Kuro Ramen gives off a relaxed, cozy vibe—not flashy, but solid. The seating is casual and comfortable; you can see some of the kitchen from your table, which I enjoy because I like watching how ramen is made. The place was busy for dinner hour, but not overwhelmingly so. Interestingly, it’s also one of the places featured in a Yahoo Style round-up of the best ramen in Malaysia  which reassured me that we had walked into a spot that ramen fans already know about. What We Tried Since I was with my friend, we ordered a few bowls to compare (partly for ram...

Ichiban Ramen Setapak: Ramen Reviews & A Comfort Bowl in KL

Ichiban Ramen Setapak: Ramen Reviews & A Comfort Bowl in KL I ended up in Setapak one evening after visiting a friend who had just moved there. We’d spent hours wandering the neighbourhood and chatting over tea. By the time we reached Setapak Central Mall  hunger had set in. Among the many options, one spot stood out: Ichiban Ramen at Lot G-63 & 63A. As someone who loves reading and writing ramen reviews , I couldn’t resist trying another bowl for the list. After all, ramen is one of those dishes that always surprises you—no two shops prepare it the same way. That’s what keeps me exploring all about ramen . First Impressions The restaurant had a casual, welcoming feel with bright lighting and clean wooden accents. Photos of steaming bowls lined the walls, promising comfort. Despite the dinner rush, we got a table without much hassle, and the service was quick. If you can’t make it in person, Ichiban Ramen is also available for delivery through platforms like Foodpanda Mala...

Ramen Matsuri: A Flavourful Stop at Sunway Pyramid

Ramen Matsuri: A Flavourful Stop at Sunway Pyramid I spent a day at Sunway Pyramid recently, catching up with a friend I hadn’t seen in ages. The mall is huge, and after an hour of wandering through shops, skating past the ice rink, and dodging the weekend crowd, we were both starving. We debated our options (there’s everything from fast food to fancy dining here, as Yahoo Style’s guide to Sunway Pyramid  proves), but in the end, the call of ramen was too strong. That’s how we ended up at Ramen Matsuri , a cosy spot tucked away on the lower ground floor. I hadn’t heard much about it before, but the menu outside—with photos of steaming bowls of noodles—was convincing. Sometimes, the best discoveries happen by chance. First Impressions Walking in, the warm and casual vibe instantly hit us. It wasn’t too loud, which felt like a relief after the bustling mall. The aroma from the open kitchen promised good things, and I couldn’t help but feel excited. What We Tried We went with ...
